A single girder gantry crane is a portal crane built around one main bridge beam supported by two free-standing legs running on a ground rail system. The hoist trolley travels on the lower flange of the girder. It is a lightweight, cost-effective solution for outdoor lifting at light- to medium-duty levels.
What is the maximum lifting capacity?
Wimac single girder gantry cranes are produced from 1 t up to 20 t as standard. For higher capacities, longer spans or heavy duty cycles a double girder gantry crane is the better structural choice.
When should I choose single girder over double girder gantry?
Choose single girder gantry when capacity stays below ~20 t, span is below ~25 m, duty class is FEM 1Am–3m (light to medium), and budget / runway-load constraints favour a lighter portal. Single girder gantries also need less ground-runway reinforcement than full double girder portals.
