Overhead Crane End Carriage
The overhead crane end carriage (end truck) is a welded steel structure made from metal sheets and profiles. It supports the bridge on the runway beams and is equipped with machined wheel blocks, forged and heat-treated steel wheels with hardened treads, and sealed, maintenance-free bearings for a long service life.
The bridge travelling is powered by squirrel-cage asynchronous motors. The motors are designed with frequency inverter for smooth starting and stopping. Each end truck has buffers and sensors to prevent over-travel.
Single Girder End Carriage
Standard single girder overhead cranes
Double Girder End Carriage

Key Features
Available Configurations
- Single Girder End Trucks - For under-running hoist applications
- Double Girder End Trucks - For top-running crab type cranes
- Available with 2, 4, or 8 wheel configurations
- Custom wheel gauges available upon request
Underslung End Carriage
Underslung end trucks (under-running end carriages) hang below the runway beam, making them the go-to choice when ceiling height is limited or structural conditions prevent the use of top-running cranes. This configuration maximizes the available lifting height within a given building envelope.
The underslung design allows the crane to travel on the bottom flange of standard I-beams or specially designed runway tracks, eliminating the need for crane rails on top of the runway beams. This results in lower installation costs and simplified building structure requirements.
Key Features
Typical Applications
- Workshops with low ceiling heights
- Retrofit installations in existing buildings
- Light to medium duty lifting operations
- Assembly lines and production facilities
Heavy Duty Overhead End Carriage
The end carriage of heavy and heavy-duty overhead process cranes is a load-critical structural assembly designed to transmit vertical wheel loads, horizontal driving forces, and dynamic impact loads from the bridge girder to the runway system under severe operating conditions. It is engineered for high wheel loads, long travel distances, frequent start–stop cycles, and continuous process operation in accordance with FEM duty classes up to FEM 4m–5m (M6, M7, M8) and ISO 4301-1 crane classifications up to A7–A8, ensuring reliable performance, structural stability, and long service life in demanding industrial environments.
Wimac process wheels are manufactured from quenched and tempered 42CrMo4 steel, ensuring exceptional strength and durability. For applications with particularly high performance requirements, wheels can be deep-hardened to minimize tread wear and extend service life.
All design, calculation, and manufacturing processes are carried out in compliance with international standards. This heavy duty configuration is designed for steel mills, foundries, and other demanding industrial environments where reliability is critical.
